Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use MasterCode (“the App”, “we”, “us”). MasterCode is jantri and sheet-entry software for everyday calculations, master-sheet views, QR scanning, and sharing. The App does not require you to create an account or sign in.

1. Information we may collect

• Data you enter in the App — numbers, sheet entries, game selections, and similar content you type or save while using jantri features. This is stored locally on your device (for example in app preferences) unless you choose to share it through Android’s share sheet or other actions you initiate.
• QR scan data — when you use the camera scanner, scanned content is processed on your device for the feature you requested. We do not use the camera in the background.
• Device and technical data — such as device model, operating system version, app version, and diagnostic or crash information, to keep the App stable and secure.
• Usage and analytics data — aggregated or pseudonymous information about how features are used, to improve reliability and performance.
• Support communications — if you email us, we process the information you include in your message.

2. Android permissions

MasterCode may request the following permissions. Each is used only for the purpose described:

• Internet — to check for app updates, load optional promotional content, and perform network requests needed by the App.
• Camera — to scan QR codes when you open the scanner. You can deny this permission and still use sheet entry features.
• Post notifications — to show alerts on your device. Push delivery through third-party services (including OneSignal) is being integrated and will be covered by this policy when enabled.
• Vibrate — to provide short haptic feedback during certain in-app actions.

You can review or revoke permissions at any time in your device’s Settings → Apps → MasterCode → Permissions.

3. Third-party services

We use or are integrating trusted service providers to operate and improve the App, including:

• Google Firebase — Analytics and Crashlytics for usage insights and crash reporting. See Firebase Privacy and Google’s Privacy Policy.
• OneSignal — push notification delivery (being added). When active, OneSignal may process device identifiers and notification-related data according to OneSignal’s Privacy Policy.
• Google Play — distribution, updates, and platform services as required by Google Play policies.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we use information

• To provide core App functionality (jantri sheets, master sheet, QR scan, share/export).
• To deliver app updates and optional notifications.
• To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance.
• To respond to support requests sent to gosheet.in@gmail.com.
• To comply with applicable law and platform requirements.

5. Data retention

Sheet data and preferences stored on your device remain there until you clear app data, uninstall the App, or use in-app options to reset local storage. Analytics and crash data are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed by our systems. Local data on your device is protected by your device lock and Android security features. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is a business and productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data held by us. Because MasterCode does not use account registration, most sheet data is under your control on your device. Contact us at the email below for other requests. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your region.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when we add services (such as Firebase or OneSignal), change permissions, or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
